Before venturing to discover whether you really have a ‘green thumb’, you need to learn a little about the plan of the garden, flowers, grass, trees & shrubs, herbs & vegetables, house plants, landscaping, gardening area, container gardens, garden guides, road , pergola, seeds, pests, fertilizers etc.

Just go through some planting guide and you’ll have a pretty good idea. I found Better Homes and Gardens site offers useful Grow Zone Map of the United States including the Northeast, South, Midwest, Mountain and Plains, Pacific Northwest, southern California to the Southwest Desert with an ideal location for growing different crops.

Better Homes and Gardens is a popular magazine in the U.S. Published by Meredith Corporation, a magazine focused on home, kitchen, gardening, crafts, healthy living, decorating and entertaining. This of course began in 1922 when Edwin Meredith, United States Secretary of Agriculture under Woodrow Wilson, founded the magazine. The magazine has kept in touch with the pulse of the changing times, and today also has a website.

The Better Homes and Gardens site is quite interactive and user friendly. This site offers relevant information on topics related to food and recipes, garden, leisure, health and family and crafts. What I personally do not like about this site, when you open the home page, there are special offers pop up asking you to register. But of course, you can just ignore that, close the window and move to navigate the site.
