Having Guests in your Home
Posted by admin in Having Guests in your Home on January 22,
You have fought tooth and nail for everything you have and finally, after a long journey, you have a home that you can be proud of. How do you do that without cramming everyone onto the couch or sleeping next to people you really don’t want to? Here are my surprisingly simple answers to this problem that many of us are faced with.
Designate a guest room and buy a set of cool bunk beds. They are very effective at increasing the sleeping space while using exactly the same space as a normal bed that you might have in your bedroom. Bunk beds have come a long way and you can get them in adult sizes so make sure to choose the right model when buying them.
Don’t make guests sleep on the couch. Even worse is an old pullout couch. Pullout couches are uncomfortable and even the best models are lacking. The mattresses are thin and they wreck your back. Instead of a pullout couch, I suggest getting futons or day beds. A high grade futon has some serious comfort factor and is usually a good couch too. I would suggest getting a removable pillow top so they are even more comfortable.
Buy extra pillows and bedding and make sure that it is easily accessible to your guests. Make sure that you can accommodate everyone and not leave anyone uncomfortable. Store it someplace that they have access to at all hours so they don’t have to feel like they need your permission and show them exactly where it is from day one. Twin bunk beds don’t mean much if you are just sleeping on a mattress without any good pillows or sheets.
These are just some simple suggestions but they will go a long way to making your guests comfortable and keeping them coming back time and time again.
